When EPUB is the better fit
EPUB text can reflow to a narrow phone screen and adapt to a reader’s chosen font size. PDF to EPUB works with readable text-based PDFs. It is most suitable for straightforward text, rather than magazines, complex columns or image-heavy page layouts. A scan needs OCR before it can supply readable text.
When fixed PDF pages help
EPUB to PDF paginates the book for A4 or US Letter. Page count can differ from the page numbers shown by an ebook reader. Font substitution, long tables and illustrations can change the result. Review chapter boundaries and images in the downloaded PDF.
Use a self-contained, unlocked ebook
EPUB exports accept unencrypted packages containing their own resources. DRM-protected books, scripts and external resources are rejected. This service does not remove ebook DRM. Keep the original EPUB so you can continue reading in its original layout.
Credits and page allowances
PDF to EPUB uses the basic PDF rate of one credit per five source pages. EPUB to PDF reserves a maximum quote and spends one credit per five actual rendered pages, rounded up. The output PDF must fit the 25-page Free or 200-page Pro limit. Long books may exceed that allowance. Server files expire one hour after upload.
