PDF to Word, Excel and PowerPoint: what can be preserved?
Choose Word for editable text and basic tables, Excel for extracted table cells and text rows, and PowerPoint for slide images that preserve page appearance. None guarantees a perfect reconstruction of the original authoring file.

Word: editable text with simple layout
PDF to DOCX reconstructs readable text, simple tables and raster images. Fonts, columns, formulas, diagrams and text wrapping can change. It is most useful for straightforward text documents. Open the result in Word or another editor and review every page before replacing your original.
Excel: cells rather than spreadsheet formulas
PDF to Excel creates a sheet for each selected PDF page. Detected tables become cell values; other readable text is retained as rows. PDF files do not carry the original spreadsheet formulas, so formulas are not restored. Check split rows, merged headers, decimal separators and reading order manually. Extracted strings are stored as text rather than executable formulas.
PowerPoint: one page image per slide
PDF to PowerPoint renders each selected page as an image, fitted to a slide without stretching. Appearance is preserved at the selected raster resolution, but text and shapes inside the image are not individually editable. Mixed page sizes fit within one common slide size. Choose 150 DPI for more detail or 72 DPI for smaller files.
Run OCR before text extraction when needed
A scan can look like a document while containing only page images. Word, Excel and text extraction need a readable text layer. OCR PDF can add one for English scans. Recognition errors carry into later exports, so check names, numbers and punctuation after both steps. PowerPoint image export works without OCR.
Understand the quote
Editable Word and Excel exports cost three credits per five processed pages, rounded up. PowerPoint image export uses the basic PDF rate of one credit per five selected pages. Free allows 25 source PDF pages and Pro 200; selecting fewer pages reduces work but does not raise the source page limit.
